Reserves I don't expect a match report from the Reserves this week as I expect 6-0 says it all. I can't comment on Saturday's result as I wasn't there, however I think a wake up call is in order. We sit second bottom with the bottom team having played 4 games less. For those not aware, should we finish in the bottom 2 we have to apply for re-selection - to put it bluntly, if you don't pull your fingers out you will be playing East Cheshire football next season. You cannot rely on the old guard (me, Sid, Linc, Heaton - oh, and not forgetting Brem). We're past it and off to Vets purgatory. It's up to you young lads now (and IC and P.O'G). 10 games left - sort it out. Steve Lavelle (PS - this week is the last training on the astro - get down )

Poynton 4 - 1 Malpass Great win for the 1st team this week and fully deserved. With several key injuries still evident, the squad was boosted with a rare appearance by Mike Carroll, who only seems to appear during the warmer months of the season. Not sure where he goes between October and February!!! First half, and Poynton were well on top, several chances came and went, before Duncan found space in the area and via a slight deflection beat the keeper to make it 1-0. The second came from some neat footwork from dunc in the box, where he was hauled down by the man affectionately nicknamed 'sloth'. Dunc dispatched the penalty with ease. A solid performance in the first half finished 2-0. Second half was much of the same, Poyton controlling the key areas of the pitch and playing some good football. Mike Carroll got the goal he deserved a lovely finish inside the box, and he was integral in the 4th being hauled down by the desperate Malpass number 3 for a second penalty of the game. Not sure how the number 3 stayed on, probably the most blatant last man hack you will ever see. Dunc dispatched the penalty to complete his hat trick and make it 4-0. The last 20 minutes were made a little more uncomfotable than necessary, chris naylor handling on the line, followed a straight red and penalty which was dispatched by the malpass forward. Thanks from some strong defending and a mike carroll cameo at right back, no further goals were conceded and Poynton saw the game out 4-1. Heated discussions followed in the bar afterwards, as Tindall was seen in tears wondering if he would ever return as the Poynton number 10 after seeing a dominant display in the centre of midfield by Robbo and Faulky........... Scotty Bajic and Garns were quality at the back all day. More big games to follow and hopefully a surge up the table
