Poynton 0 - 1 Crewe
A game that followed a similar pattern to that of the Whitchurch game a couple of weeks ago. Pretty much nothing between the teams, with chances at a premium.
Poynton saw some second half chances go begging, and one particular scramble in the box should have been finished firstly by bridgey and then faulky fluffed from 6 yards.
As is the current achillies heal for the first team, it was a poor goal to concede, and with about 20 minutes to go crewe got the goal that turned out to be the winner. We made it far too simple, long ball down the left, which we all thought was running out of play. The Crewe winger kept it in, and had time and space to cut inside and force a parry from Andy, which fell to an unmarked forward and it was an east tap in.
With the season coming to an end, its vital these errors are removed from what have been some very encouraging performances in recent weeks.
Rudheath at home tonight........I'm just going to the shops to get some astro trainers..........
