Poynton Res 1 - 1 Billinge Res

Good game of football on a difficult dry pitch and the ball bobbling all over the show. Might aswell put the stoods away now until next season and get my trainers out!

Pretty even game really, first half we had a bit more of the play, reducing Billinge to minimal going forward. Our goal came from quick thinking by IC (theres a first for everything) and a good ball into the box finished off by quinny! As we were on top at this point, we went in search of a second, and shortly after following a corner, faulkner rose like a salmon above the keeper, only to see the centre half handball it off the line..........the Ref did his best Arsene Wenger impression and to quote said 'I didnt see it'.

Pretty soon after, Billinge had a rare attack, and a mix up between both centre halves, and then IC resulted in the Billinge forward firing past the keeper, 1-1 at half time.

Second half was an even contest, some good chances for both teams, but rarely lead to a keeper having to make a meaningful save. A draw was probably a fair result, both teams worked hard and played some nice stuff in difficult decisions.

I thought Brems Cameo was a highlight.......and Pete 'elbows' Adams managed to stay on the pitch after his vicious assault midweek. ;D
